Dr Adrian Marsh has been lecturing and publishing in Romani Studies since 2000 and Researcher in Romani Studies at Greenwich University (London) since 2007. He has previously worked in community education and childcare services in the UK (1980-2000), with the UK Traveller Education Service in London (2000-2002), as a consultant for Save the Children Sweden (Europe programme), the British Council in Turkey, the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the European Commission in Brussels, the Delegation for Roma Questions in Sweden, the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest and taught at the Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul, Uppsala University, Lund University, Malmö Högskola, Södertörns Högskola, the American University in Cairo and Istanbul Bilgi University.
A one-time fairground-ride, lorry and sign painter in the family business, he has lived and worked amongst the Gypsy communities of Turkey since 2002 and resides in Istanbul. He is of UK Romany-Traveller origins.
